{"id":7907,"date":"2015-03-23T12:44:04","date_gmt":"2015-03-23T12:44:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tekima.com\/panel-interface-connectors\/"},"modified":"2019-05-16T13:54:56","modified_gmt":"2019-05-16T13:54:56","slug":"panel-interface-connectors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tekima.com\/en\/panel-interface-connectors\/","title":{"rendered":"PANEL interface connectors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A\u00a0<strong>Panel Interface Connector (PIC)<\/strong>\u00a0is a device that typically mounts to the outside of a control panel housing and allows the user to interface with a PLC, computer, or other type of programmable device.\u00a0 Once installed,\u00a0<strong>the PIC<\/strong>, which houses convenient pass through connections,\u00a0<strong>allows the user to interface with the computer, PLC, or other devices inside the control panel without opening the panel door.<\/strong>\u00a0The ability to interface with the contents of the cabinet without opening the door eliminates some potential safety hazards associated with having an open electrical panel, one of the main safety concerns is usually Arc Flash.\u00a0 An arcflash explosion is an extremely dangerous system malfunction that occurs when a short is created between electrified conductors.\u00a0 This can happen when the conductors can no longer contain the applied voltage, or when the isolation between the conductors is breached.\u00a0 As a result, the air surrounding the short can ionize and create an intense \u201cArc Flash\u201d.<\/p>\n\n<p>Our standard Panel Interface Connector contains a duplex GFCI power outlet, a RJ45 connector, a USB interface and a 9 pins D-Subminiature, all connectors that are commonly used by the PLC, computer, or other programmable device within the control cabinet.
